Most Fayetteville residents have a unique origin story. They come from all corners of the United States and cross oceans for military orders, job changes, or pursuit of the American dream. Nickoy Haughton is no different. Born and raised in Montego Bay at the young age of 17 he migrated to the United States to pursue his bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management.  

Nickoy was quickly inspired to start his own business combining his passion for business operations and love for authentic Jamaican cuisine. A Jamaican food truck was the perfect way to intertwine these skill sets. Nickoy was determined and started to consult with the Women’s Business Center of Fayetteville to help turn this vision into reality. 

“When I first consulted with the Women’s Business Center I had a strong desire to start my food truck but needed to get my vision onto paper. The CEED team was instrumental in helping me create my business all the way to hosting my grand opening."

His new food truck 876 Flavaz is dedicated to providing mouth-watering, authentic Jamaican meals for residents in the Fayetteville area.

 “876 Flavaz derives from the area code of my hometown in the beautiful island of Jamaica plus the unique spices and flavors that make up my dishes,” says Nickoy. 

In June 2021 CEED was able to assist in the ribbon-cutting of 876 Flavaz with Mayor Mitch Colvin y Councilwoman Yvonne Kinston in attendance on Yadkin Road in the heart of Councilman DJ Haire‘s District 4. Fayetteville foodies lined up to be one of the first few to try Nickoy’s good eats! We are so proud of 876 Flavaz’s grand opening success and excited to see him thrive in our food truck community.
